Location
The Lynchburg Museum sits atop Monument Terrace, a graceful stair and terraced pathway, that leads from the Museum’s front door to the heart of Downtown. Created as a monument to those from Lynchburg killed in World War I, Monument Terrace hosts markers and statuary commemorating conflicts from the Civil War to Vietnam.
Ninth Street begins at the base of Monument Terrace and leads directly to the James River where Lynch’s Ferry was founded in 1757. Nearby are other cultural attractions, antique shops, services, lodging, and a variety of restaurants. Visit www.DiscoverLynchburg.com for more information.
